A hunting we will go!

I really wanted to replace the bathroom windows with leaded ones to match the ones in the kitchen.  So I decided to check the local reclaim shops, if that didn’t work I would try ebay. My mom had to use the bathroom while Mr Leo was working nearby… that’s when I realized I should probably get a few doors up as well. Figured I’d start with the door to the basement hallway, the first floor powder room (since it’s demonstrated the most need) and the attic stair way could use something as well. Lucky the attic door was in one of the bedrooms.

I decided I wanted to go old school 5 panel wood with the privacy glass for the powder room and the same for the basement with a clear glass.

I caught the windows on ebay and haggled my way to a super deal.  The seller was willing since we were local to each other and he would get cash in hand and wouldn’t have to pack and ship anything to me. I got all 5 of them for $400. Three for the second floor bathroom and 2 for the window near the fireplace.I just have to strip, sand and build up the dimensions a little bit.

The door for the basement hallway also on ebay. It was lonely in the seller’s garage for some time. He sold it to me for $40 bucks. It was a steal since it was made in the 1940’s and it has the wavy glass.

The powder room door was also a deal. But I found this one at the architectural reclaim for 35. This one doesn’t have the glass but I found the knob at the antique mall for $18 bucks.
